The APC AP9630 UPS Network Management Card 2 is great. I would strongly recommend this product for anyone who has Smart UPS. It is design to shutdown your servers before the UPS runs out of battery in case of power outage. I also would add that the APC Customer Support is very good as well, so if you have need for one this is the way to go.

Bought a used model for an APC Smart-UPS ATX 500 Power Supply SMT750RM2U. Card initially configured itself using DHCP, then I changed it to static IP through the browser UI. Easy to set up, and gives you lots of control of the UPS in a much easier fashion than using a terminal.

Received the card quickly and installed it in a UPS that did not have any devices connected to it yet. Easy to install, easy to configure. How you use it and with what software is up to you and that's where the level of difficulty comes in. I used APC PowerChute Network Shutdown on a Windows Server 2008R2 machine. We had a power outage yesterday. The server monitoring the UPS through this card shutdown gracefully as it was supposed to. I have no complaints about this card.

Allows you to install the Network Shutdown software and gracefully shut down PCs in the event of a power outage. I use it at home, however, so the high price of entry is a little rediculous.... but I understand it's priced for corporate usage. Works well, easy to configure once you figure out APC's maze of product offerings and software suites.

Note: Unless you pair this with a compatible APC UPS, it is absolutely a one-star product. Although basically flat, it is not suitable for use as a plate, and (although not tested) appears to have very poor aerodynamics for a frisbee. It isn't strong enough to use as a prybar and appears to have essentially no utility in the arena of self-defense.
