I have always had bad wifi at my house, I went from At&T to Spectrum, and it helps a little bit but it was still touch and go, and then I bought the Google Nest and really thought all my problems were over, but after a month it started dropping signal and then I was constantly reconnecting it or reprograming it when I called tech support they said it was the internet and I needed a strong signal which I didn't so, I was out 400.00, but luckily I bought it at Costco and they allowed me to return it. It wasn't until I was installing a consumption meter for my solar that I was told to get Amplified. I installed it and I can't tell you how I SING their praises. I have never ever had this good of receptions, I consistently get over 200Mbps download and 25Mbps upload, it has never dropped or lost signal. It is consistent and steady. It was so easy to install, way easier than the nest.

This is clearly a stunner of a home wifi router system. Everything manages easily through the smart device app. Port mapping, reserving IP addresses with MAC address, etc is extremely simple and straight forward once you know to use the app rather than try and do it with a web browser like older technologies. I had been using an excellent Airport Extreme with wired down haul to an airport express and things worked quite well. Good enough for ~10mb about everywhere far from the main router. With the AmpliFi and one mesh point on the opposite corner upstairs from the cute little square box and the other in center of downstairs living space it is difficult to find a location with less than 150mb wifi anyplace!

I've had a number of routers over the years. My house is apparently unusually dense, and I've struggled to find a router that could consistently provide a good signal from one end of the house to the other. Prior to this, I was using a ASUS RT-N66U, which was a great router, but still couldn't provide a good signal across the entire house, and would periodically cause buffering even in devices closer to the router. The Amplifi system was much more expensive, but the promise of the mesh units and finally being able to cover every room in the house closed the deal. Setup was quick and painless and, even without the mesh units, I was getting better coverage than ever before.

Last year I moved into a raised ranch. There is a lot of brick and concrete in the various walls and between main floor and basement. Wifi signal was pretty awful. Between the cable companys crappy equipment and having to use wifi extenders - it was near impossible to get full house coverage of any decent quality without a lot of lag/latency.

If you are looking for *good* and *simple* this is the router for you. If you want flexibility and a ton of options keep looking ;)
